Prenatal Visits
The main goal of these visits is to allow us to become aquainted and build a trusting relationship based on open communication. We will explore and discuss your priorities and any fears or concerns, go over birth plans, labor positions, comfort measures, newborn procedures, post-partum care, breastfeeding, and car seat safety. I also want to know your own best ways of coping with pain and fatigue. It is important that both mother and father are present for the meetings so we can work together as a team. These visits normally take place around 34-35 weeks and 37-38 weeks.
Unlimited Contact
Feel free to call or email me anytime throughout your pregnancy with questions or concerns. If I am not able to answer your questions, I will point you in the right direction. I firmly believe in education as a form of empowerment and can help you find resources as needed.
On-Call
Beginning 2 weeks prior to your estimated due date (or if you begin showing preliminary signs of labor prior to 38 weeks), I will be on call for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. This means I will stay rested, not travel far from home or turn off my cell phone. I will be prepared to join you as soon as you need me and stay with you through your entire birth process.
Continuous Support
Once you believe labor has started, you should contact me by phone. Depending on travel time, I can usually be to you within 1-2 hours whether that be at your home, hospital or birth center. In the meantime, I can answer any questions and make suggestions over the phone. I will remain by your side through the entire birth process. Once your baby is born, I can assist with breastfeeding if desired, and I will make sure you are comfortable, hydrated, and nourished. I typically stay for 1-2 hours after birth and I will remain at your side until you are settled in and ready for some quiet time as a family.
Back up
I work with other doulas in the area. We provide back up support for each other if the very rare occasion ever arises where we can not make it. I will also call in back up if I can not be there for a few hours to ensure you have support the moment you need it.
Postpartum Visit
One to four weeks after your birth (when you are comfortable), I will come back to your home for a follow up visit. This should happen after you’ve had time to process your experience and feelings outside of my perspective. During this meeting, I can continue to assist with breastfeeding and we can discuss your feelings about the birth, and any questions you have for me. I will also share with you my memories of your baby’s birth day! I try to take notes of timelines, funny moments, and other memorable occurrences during labor so I will type these out for you to keep in baby’s scrapbook/baby book!
Fee’s
$500 $450 when you sign a contract by January 31

After we have interviewed and decided to work together, I will provide you with a contract. The signed contract and 50% will be due to hold your spot; the rest will be due at 38 weeks when I begin the on call period. However, please do not let cost determine whether you will hire a doula. I believe every woman who wants a doula, deserves one. I am willing to work with women in need at a reduced cost. Other payment plans also available and willing to consider barters. Please inquire!
